Testing the Loading Time of Paper

The table shows the time data that the loading mechanism takes to deliver the paper. The data was collected by repeating the process four times and then the average time was taken.

There are other factors involve when considering the time that the paper takes to complete the process. These factors are the friction between the rollers and the movements of the rubber on the rollers. Another factor is that the motor used rotates at 15 RPM, This value is when the motor has no load on it and by considering the load from the friction and the weight of the rollers this value will drop.

The calculated value of the time was 56 seconds. This value was calculated by setting the rotation of the motor to be 14 RPM.

However, the average value of the testing was 55 seconds. Comparing the calculated value with the testing value, it can be seen that the loading mechanism device met the requirement.

Testing the Discharge of the Battery

Loading Motor Battery

The data show the measurments of the volt and current of the battery. First, the battery was connected to the charger to fully charge it. This was only because the battery was used. Then the measurments were taken.

Over all, the performance should be good since the motors only consume 0.08 Amp with load according to the manufacturer website. (http://www.tsinymotor.com/Products/Worm%20Gear%20Motors/2014/0512/15.html)

The result shows that the comnsumption of the battery during 60 seconds was 0.1% In other words the battery was discharged by 0.1% in the first minute. This means that the battery will last more than 5 minutes which was the requirment. In this condition the battery dischages by 0.5% after 5 minutes.

Stage 2 Actuator Battery

The linear actuators consume ≤ 2.5 Amp with maximum load of 1000 lb according to the manufacturer website. (http://www.windynation.com/cm/Actuator%20Manual_R3.pdf)

For this application however it will counsome less that 2.5 Amp since the load is barely 20 lb.

The result shows that the comnsumption of the battery during 60 seconds was 0.4% As a matter of fact the battery will last more than 5 minutes witch is the minimum required time. In fact the battery discharge after 5 minutes will be 2.5%

The over all performance was successful and met the requirment.

Launcher Battery

The launcher motors has the highest consumption of the battery. They run at 12000 RPM.

To minimize the consumption of the battery, I used a separate switch for the launcher. Not to mention that the motors were not turned on untile the paper reach it. To put it differenlty, the motors turned on only when the paper reach it and after the lauch they were turned off.

According to the manufactorers the motors current consumption is 17 Amp when its in full speed. (http://www.tsinymotor.com/Products/DC_Motor/2014/0517/53.html)

However, for this application it will counsome less that 17 Amp since it would not reach the maximum speed.

The result shows that the comnsumption of the battery during 60 seconds was 2.5% More likely the battery will last more than 5 minutes witch is the minimum required time. In fact the battery discharged 12.5% after 5 minutes. The over all performance was successful and met the requirment.

The overall results were significant. All of the batteries passed the test and met the requirment.
